What’s the Blackcat Buzz?
It is also known as ALPHV, is a group of cybercriminals who specialize in holding your data hostage. They do this by locking it up with their special “ransomware,” making it impossible to access. Then, they demand a hefty fee to unlock it. Think of it like a digital kidnapping for your information!
Why are Hospitals at Risk?
It seems it is feeling a little grumpy lately. After authorities took down some of their online hangouts, they’re lashing out by targeting hospitals more than ever before. Since December 2023, almost 7 out of 10 of their victims have been healthcare organizations. Not cool, Blackcat!
What’s the Big Deal with Blackcat?
A Blackcat attack on a hospital can be a real nightmare. Here’s why:
