The fraudster, operating under the alias “Aditya Kumar,” targeted Bedi in a bogus property deal, highlighting the growing threat of cyber scams.

To lend credibility to the scam, the con artist presented Bedi with fake identity documents and paperwork related to the supposed purchase of his Pune flat. Unaware of the deception, Bedi fell for the ruse and transferred a substantial sum of Rs 85,000 through GPay and his wife’s account, believing he was engaging in a legitimate transaction.

Vanishing Act

Upon discovering inconsistencies and requesting a refund, Bedi encountered the sudden disappearance of the fraudster. Realizing the extent of the scam, the actor promptly filed a complaint with the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai on December 30th, 2023.
